Red Cross
Red Cross is an international organisation. It was founded in 1860 by Sir Henry Dunant in
Geneva, Switzerland. Its main purpose is to help and heal the injured soldiers during the
war. Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was established in 1920 under the Indian Red Cross
Society Act and incorporated under Parliament Act XV of 1920. The Mission of it is to
inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human
suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to creating more
congenial environment for peace.
A unit of Indian Red Cross Society functions in the college. This unit strives to fulfil the
mission of the Indian Red Cross Society. The training imparted by the college unit and
certificate received by the trainee in this respect are extremely useful for students.

NCC
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) came into being by an Act of the Parliament Act No. XXXI of
1948 designated 'The National Cadet Corps Act 1948'. The National Cadet Corps is Youth
Wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is engaged in grooming the
youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The Cadets are given basic
military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for
active military service once they complete their course.
Trained NCC cadets get preference in direct recruitment in defence services. NCC training is
imparted under the leadership of NCC officer Major Dr. Krishna Nand Pandey. Students
wishing to get enrolled themselves can contact NCC officer of the college.
NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India,
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides an opportunity to take part in various
government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to
provide hands of experience to young students in delivering community service. The motto
of National Service Scheme is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’.
Four units of NSS are working in the college. The NSS provides a suitable platform for the
students who have strong desire to do something for the nation. Students who wish to
become volunteers of NSS can contact Dr. Shiv Saran Shukla- Senior programme officer or
programme officers - Dr. Rekha Sharma, Lohans Kumar Kalyani and Audhesh Kumar Verma.
Rovers–Rangers (Scouts-guides)
Lieutenant general in the British Army Baden-Powell started scouting in 1960. In India
Scouting can be traced back to 1909 when Capt. T.H. Baker started first scout troop in
Bangalore. The Bharat Scouts and Guides was founded in 1950. This organisation is a society
registered under Societies Registration Act and is a voluntary, non-political and secular
organisation. Scouting is a movement. Its aims are providing young people with value-
based, attractive and challenging youth programme, through competent leaders, effective
communication, optimum use of technology and efficient management. A Rover/ Ranger is
a young person associated with scouting activities.

Sports
‘Healthy brain resides in a healthy body’. Hence, physical health is essential for mental health. Currently, sports is not considered as only a means of entertainment. Currently, rather than being a means of entertainment, sports is evolving into a competitive industry. One can find his career in sports also. Many students of the college had served in university basketball team in last few years.
College has proper arrangements for physical exercises and sports. Students who are interested can contact the in-charge Dr. Raj Bahadur Singh Baghel.
